Everyone likes dinosaurs. At some point in just about every person’s life, he or she has imagined what it might be like to come face to face with one of the great reptiles of the past, such as a T-Rex or a group of nasty velociraptors.
One of the best places in the nation to visit and learn about dinosaurs is in the great state of Montana. The Montana Dinosaur Trail consists of more than a dozen museums, field sites, and centers dedicated to the study of dinosaurs and the ancient, prehistoric world. All of the museums contain replicas as well as real fossils from dinosaurs that lived in Montana (and around the world) long, long ago.
Check out the real T-Rex skull at the Makoshika Dinosaur Museum, or at the Two-Medicine Dinosaur Center, you can see the first baby dinosaur bones ever found. Some of the sites even have active digs that are open to the public. There is a lot to see, learn, and do at all of these sites.
You can choose from a number of museums located all around the state or you can take the plunge and visit them all. This makes a great road trip for a family that digs fossils.
