Ordinary innerspring mattresses are havens for dust mites because of their hollow nature. Dust mites are disgusting microscopic critters, sometimes visible as dust in the air through rays of light, that eat your dead skin while you sleep. Yuck! These little buggers cause allergies and asthma attacks, plus they’re a little creepy. But memory foam mattresses, due to their dense, cell-packed material, are constructed to prevent dust mites from living inside them. It is nearly impossible for a dust mite to live within a memory foam mattress. For those who want freedom from allergies and asthma, or for those who simply want a cleaner mattress, a memory foam mattress may be the way to go.
