The downside is that you will only have a small amount of time to set up before people start showing up and you have very little control of the environment.

One last consideration is rewarding the host of the party as well as the people that show up. This reward is then used to encourage other people to host a party.

This is how I set up and run home parties. I will use a business I am involved with. Some companies will have this spelled out for you already when you join. Other times you will have to figure out how to make this happen.
